Brexit Roundtable: Issues and Opportunities

As repeatedly announced by Prime Minister, Theresa May, March should mark the date when the UK gives notice of its intention to withdraw from the EU, starting the two year period in which the UK and the EU negotiate the terms of withdrawal.

With this timeline in mind, our roundtable is scheduled to discuss with our panel of specialists, in the very heat of the moment, a number of issues resulting from Brexit, and the alternative operational structures required to start the relocation of business units from the UK into other EU jurisdictions.

The best jurisdiction for a particular business, the possibility to benefit from a specific exemption, the mechanics and restrictions of delegating back-office from continental Europe into the UK, the availability of national regulators and the approach of the ECB, are just some of the topics that will be discussed.

The most pressing questions being: (i) which solutions financial market participants from the UK would prefer and what realistic margins of choice they will effectively have? (ii) what obstacles are there? (iii) what are the possible show stoppers (legal and operational)? and (iv) how would Italy, and Milan as a financial district, benefit from movements?

We cordially invite you to join us in our Milan office for a presentation and panel discussion with experts from London and Milan.
